I am a 27 yr old female, I gave birth via c-section Jan. 11th to my second daughter. I am now experiencing a very odd discharge that is concerning me. It is a very thick, sticky gel like substance with blood mixed in. I know the blood is normal but what about the other? I did start cramping a bit previous to noticing the discharge. Also let it be known that I can't seem to get the discharge out completely. I know this seems gross but its almost like a string your trying to pull out. Any advice is greatly appreciated. This was my second c-section if that is of importance!

Hello there! How are you feeling apart from being worried about the discharge? Congratulations on you second child!

I also had cesarean section when pregnant with my second child. My contractions started but I couldn’t go through with the labor, it just stopped. I had hard time recovering from cesarean, vaginal birth recovery was nothing compared to this one. How are you coping?
I also had both bleeding and the discharge, which was of course mixed with blood.
I talked to the midwife about it and she said this was normal because it is a process of uterine lining shed. I remember she told me that I should check any abnormal and heavy bleeding and a smell from the discharge. Otherwise, I should be fine.

Are you in pain now? I used to take pain meds for some time after the delivery. The incisions were killing me.

Anyway, take it easy and try to rest. That was the best advise I was given!

Best Regards
Jane

I had my csection on November 29th and this is happening to me now??? I stopped bleeding, thought I had my period last week and now all of a sudden I am cramping with the same stuff coming out. I'm not concerned because I am not heavy bleeding and I didn't have the brown, mucusy discharge I had with my last 2 c sections, but normally the bleeding and everything would be over by now. Maybe my body is taking a little longer.

Hey, I've read all of your post, I am too a new mom who had a c-section b/c I was dilated 2 a four for 24 hours and wouldn't dilate anymore. But I it has been a month now and the bleeding has stopped but now I'm experiencing something different and very concerning. the last couple times I have went to the restroom and wipe their was this discharge and what looked like a little brown worm on the tissue paper. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if so if they have any advice as to what it is!!! I am very concerned, I've joked about it but now am very scared. Does anyone have any input? :?

i had my second c-section a month ago and also have this strange sticky gel substance on and off mixed with small blood clots which do look a bit like small brown coloured worms, i dont recall having this with my first section two yrs ago just heavy bleeding so im glad to hear its not weird and im not the only one!!! would love to know how long on average it takes to shed this inner lining stuff tho so if anyone has a rough idea let me know!!! other than that noone should fear the docs for anything you consider to be strange, dont forget they have seen everything!!!! and it doesn't matter how silly you think it may sound coz believe it or not if your that worried about something it is in fact going to affect your healing time while youre stressing over it!!! never a helpful thingwith a newborn to look after too

I had my second c-section a year ago and I also have a light brown discharge, kind of like ovulation with small brown spots and some brown worms too! I went to a gyneacologist and she took a swab, but nothing came up. She said there was nothing to be concerned about. But I hate it and find myself having to wipe my husband's you-know-what quickly with a tissue after sex, before he sees it on him! I'm hoping this will dissappear, as it's been around for quite a few months now. If anyone has had this and then it was gone, please let me know how long it had taken to dissappear. Thanks

I had my daughter 14 years ago and my c- section area has Never healed. If I wear a little tight pants it leaks. It smells awful and at the end of the day I'm chapped. It's only on one side though. I think it's the scar tissue preventing it to heal. After I had my daughter that long ago. That part of my c- section area opened up about a half a inch. It healed except for a pin hole that has never closed all the way:(

You need to get some bio oil to put on the scar. And go to a kinesiology dr who cam do low light healing on it I had the same problem for ten years and finally got it fixed.

That's awful. Your doctor should recommend culturing the area and treating infection abs then taking you to surgery to remove any scar tissue. Sometimes absorbable sutures create a foreign object type of response in your body and that can prevent healing as well. You really need to follow up on that with your Dr and be consistent it could get nasty.

I'm having this problem however I'm not bleeding. I've not had a period since the birth of my son, 11 weeks ago so this is quite worrying, although quite nice. I did have a c section and recovery was brilliant and quite quick however now I wake up in pain and also it feels like someone has just kicked me in the lower region. Any thoughts?

Google pinworms and see if this is what you have. It is a very common intestinal infection that won't cause much damage except maybe itching. It is however contagious and needs medicine
